MUN
The experience of being at a Model United Nations is unlike any other. The thrill, the excitement, the knowledge, the debates and all the other surrounding aspects of such an event are an unmatched experience on their own. Here at Ayesha Global School, we are allowing our children to experience these feelings and emotions on a first hand basis with the introduction of the all new MUN training sessions. The sessions allow the children to explore themselves and look at real world issues from a different point of view. The students are being trained on a range of aspects from body language to voice modulation and various other paradigms of public speaking.
What is MUN?
MUN stands for Model United Nations. It is a simulation of the United Nations for students at Ayesha Global School.
How does MUN work?
MUN is conducted once a year. Topics are chosen from current events. Each student is assigned to be a delegate of a particular country. A real-world scenario or problem is assigned to them. They must then attempt to solve the issue at hand based on the policies and resources they have at hand as a representative of that country. The students need to create policy documents, an opening speech, research and subsequently a resolution document on their assigned issue.
What are the skills that MUN teaches?
MUN helps students understand how the United Nations works. Students pick up skills like leadership, research, critical thinking, diplomacy, international relations, and teamwork. It also gives them insight into policy making and formulation of proposal papers.
What classes are MUN open to?
MUN is open for students from class 8 to 10.
